PRA’s Quality Management System was audited recently by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd and duly re-certified for MS ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System for the provision of Architecture Planning and Interior Design Services.
PRA is the first architecture firm in Malaysia to be certified for ISO 9001: 1994 Quality Management System in December 1998.

PAM Awards and Annual Dinner 2022 was held on 18 June 2022 at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.
It was a gala evening attended by 530 Architects and members of architecture community and guests. It was also a momentous occasion for PRA as Founder and Director Ar David Teh received the PAM Gold Medal for his Contribution for the Advancement of Architecture and the Firm received 2 PAM Awards for Excellence in Architecture.

Our Founder and Director, Ar David Teh has been conferred with the PAM Gold Medal 2022 at the PAM Awards and Annual Dinner 2022 on 18 June 2022.
The PAM Gold Medal is the highest honour bestowed by Malaysian Institute of Architects / Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM) for Ar David Teh’s significant contribution to the advancement of architecture in Malaysia.
This accolade is an acknowledgment and recognition amongst peers for architectural design excellence achieved through a body of works in architecture spanning a period of over 4 decades.

Parcel F Putrajaya Collaboration Webinar

Our Director, Ar David Teh was one of the speakers at the PAM Webinar, Towards Smarter Collaboration on 16 October 2021.
Our Associate Azlifah Amir Sutan and former Associate Azri Aziz also represented PRA to share their collaboration experiences on the design and construction of Parcel F, now called Kompleks F Government Offices.
PRA is the Master Planner and Lead Architect of Kompleks F. The other collaborator Architects are SNO Architects and Jafri Merican Architects & Associates.
Completion of Sunway GEOLake Residences @ Sunway South Quay.

Sunway GEOLake Residences is finally completed after the requisite inspections with the Contractor, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd and the Developer, Sunway Property.
PRA is the Master Planner and Architect of both RC2 (Sunway Geo Residences) and RC1 (Sunway GEOLake Residences) which PRA secured through a closed competition conducted by the Developer in 2007.
The main feature of Sunway GEOLake Residences upon arrival is the luscious central landscaped open space separating the 44-storey apartment block and the 3-storey townhouse villas.

The required surveillance audit of PRA's quality management system was conducted by SIRIM on 3 February 2021 following strict compliance to the authorities MCO’s standard operating procedure.

Our Director, Ar David Teh FRAIA FPAM is a member of the council.
The Australian Commissioner Dubai Expo 2020 hosted a reception and attendees also visited Dubai Expo 2020, presently under construction.
Completion of CORE Soho Suites,
Kota Warisan, Sepang
2019
CORE Soho Suites developed by the KIP Group of Companies is nearing completion. Located at the centre of KIP Sentral in the upcoming area of Kota Warisan, Sepang, it is in the catchment of Xiamen University, Putrajaya and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The development comprises of 466 units in two 9 storeys and 7 storeys blocks on a 6 storeys podium of shops and carparks. PRA’s modernist architecture language is appropriate for both the function and the site context. The strong geometries and bold use of screens and colours create a strong expression and the building stands out as a landmark for the area and from the highway to KLIA The regular and optimum shape and plan of the 450 sq ft Soho units allow flexibility of planning for a fully residential unit or a residence cum office or a fully office suite or a co-work office.

Completion of Parcel F Government Complex, Putrajaya
February 2019
Parcel F Government Complex (Kompleks Kerajaan Parcel F) at Putrajaya is finally completed. PRA won the masterplan and architecture competition for this large government office complex in August 2007. The office complex comprises of 11 blocks on a 3 storey carpark podium. PRA is the lead architect for the project with 3 office blocks and associated carpark podium. Two other Architects were commissioned for the other buildings.
Construction works commenced in July 2015 and finally completed in February 2019. Statutory inspections are currently in progress for the issuance of the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC).
Our Director Ar Effindi Ismail and Associates Noor Azlifah and Azri Aziz led PRA's architecture team, at its peak, of 10 architects, designers and technicians in the office and 4 architects and clerks of works on site.

Gong Xi Fa Cai! PRA wishes all of you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Lunar New Year. PRA had an auspicious start to the Lunar New Year with the traditional lion dance on 12th February 2019. The lion dance troupe performed the traditional custom 'choi chang' which is homonym for "wealth and fortune", by plucking auspicious vegetables and fruits. The traditional "pai" was also performed to bring good luck and fortune.

CIDB Fellowship Award for Ar David Teh
Our Director, Ar David Teh FPAM has been honored with a Fellowship Award by the Construction Industry Development Board, Malaysia for his contributions to the Malaysian Construction Industry.
Consequently, he has been inducted as a Fellow of the Construction Industry Development Board, Malaysia. As Ar David Teh was overseas, his son, Timothy received the award on his behalf at the Industry Appreciation Dinner on 2nd November 2018
RIBA Inaugural Reception in Kuala Lumpur

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) held its Inaugural Reception here in Kuala Lumpur on 16th August 2018. Our Director Ar David Teh was present to welcome over 50 RIBA members and friends who attended the event despite the rain and traffic with some taking over a hour to get to KLCC. Azlina Bulmer, RIBA Director of International Regions flew in from London to host the event and spoke of the need to connect with all members outside the United Kingdom. The Malaysian Institute of Architects PAM President Ar Ezumi Harzani Ismail and five Past Presidents namely Prof Dato’ Parid Wardi Sudin, Datuk Ar Tan Pei Ing, Ar Henry Lee, Ar Mohd Zulhemlee An and Ar David Teh were present.
RAIA International Chapter Council in Singapore

The Council of the International Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) met in Singapore on 20th and 21st July 2018. The RAIA is organized in Chapters and the International Chapter consists of the over 700 Members who reside or work outside Australia. Our Director, Ar David Teh is a Council Member of the International Chapter. In conjunction of the Council meeting, a reception was held at the home of the Australian High Commissioner to Singapore HE Bruce Gosper who was present. RAIA National President Clare Cousins was also present. International Chapter Awards for Architecture were presented. The William J Mitchell International Chapter Prize was awarded to Dr Liu Thai Ker of Singapore
Art Exhibition Opening and Discussion

Architecture is always associated with Art. Our Director, Ar David Teh FPAM was hence delighted to open an art exhibition together with the Chairman of Hospice Malaysia, Datin Kathleen Chew. ‘The Study Of Life Adapting To The Chaos Of Cityscapes’ is the first solo exhibition by Tan Kar Mern. Kar Mern tries to capture the impart of buildings on the physical and social environment through the use of dry-point etchings. A discussion on ‘Art and Architecture’ by Ar David Teh FPAM and Ar Mustapha Kamal Zulkarnain FPAM which followed the opening had the enthusiastic participation of over forty attendees Among the many who attended the opening, discussion and reception were our Director, Ar Effindi Ismail and Dato’ Ar Nafisah Radin, Principal of NR Architect. AIA Convention 2018

The 2018 Americans Institute of Architects Convention was held in New York on 21st - 23rd June 2018. Comprising of a conference and expo with seminars, events, exhibitions and tours, it attracted more than 22,000 architects and other registrants. It is one of the largest architecture industry gatherings in the world. Our Director, Ar David Teh who is an International Member of the AIA attended the Convention and met many colleagues from Malaysia and Asia there. The keynote event was a lecture by Sir David Adjaye from England.

PRA Saturday Workshop - Visit to Space Product Sdn Bhd

For the Saturday Workshop on 5th May 2018, PRA had a factory visit to Space Products Sdn Bhd in Bandar Puncak Alam. Space Products is a company that manufactures metal building products of metal louvers, strip ceilings, sun shades and façade systems. We were briefed and witnessed their manufacturing processes.
For the record, we thank the team from Space Products in particular Managing Director Bella Chong, Manager Karen Chong and Marketing Executive Nur Shamila for attending to us.
Parcel F BIM Briefing to the Local Authority

Parcel F is recorded as the first fully implemented BIM (Building Information Modeling) construction project in Putrajaya.
Around 40 officers from the Local Authority of Putrajaya led by Datuk Seri Hasim Ismail, President of Perbadanan Putrajaya visited the site on 2nd April 2018 to understand the BIM iplementation process.
PRA's involvement in the BIM process includes technical coordination and clash analysis using the 3D model, site verification of works done based on the 3d model and all the way to asset management and tagging based on the as-built 3d model.
The future of the construction industry relies very much on the use of the latest technology and software advancements and as such, PRA is proud to be a part of this achievement.
Parcel F Roof Capping Ceremony

PRA's winning entry in a closed competition has reached one of it's heights by having a Roof Capping Ceremony which marks the development's first completion of the steel roof structure located at PRA's landmark building, Block F1. The overall master plan which consists of a total of 10 office blocks and 1 mulitpurpose hall was conceptualized by PRA to be a green, walk-able and people centric government office development. PRA as the Lead Architect, developed the Design Guidelines for the development to ensure the winning design and overall concept is materialised. The roof capping ceremony was officiated and endorsed by the CEO of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, Datuk Azlan Abdul Karim, together with distinguished VIP guests from KLCC Projeks Sdn Bhd and Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd. The commemorative plaque, endorsed by Datuk Azlan was hoisted up to the tip of Block F1 for installation on the roof top. We look forward to the completion of the project by year's end

World Urban Forum 9 - UIA-PAM Exhibition Booth Talk

On the occasion of the World Urban Forum 9, UIA-PAM had an exhibition booth at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. A series of talks was organised from 9th February 2018 to 13th February 2018 at the exhibition booth. Ar David Teh was invited to the UIA-PAM Exhibition Booth to give a talk on two books, 'Post Merdeka Architecture 1957 - 1987' and 'Views Reviews Interviews - Celebrating 60 Years of Malaysian Architecture 1957 - 2017'. The talk was well attended and received. Among the attendees were PAM Council Members, the Mayor of George Town, architects, friends and foreign visitors.

It has come to end of the year 2017. As usual, PRA has organised an annual lunch at the Grand Season Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This tradition has been carried out for 38 years and it has become the office tradition. The event was meant to have a bonding session outside of the office environment among the stuff by having lunch and exchanging presents with each other.

On the 9th December 2017, PRA organised another site visit to Parcel F at Putrajaya. This site visit was held not only to have PRA's staff had an update on the latest condition of the project, but also giving an opportunity to the new staff to have clearer understand towards Parcel F project.
Merdeka Jubilee Architecture Symposium

Malaya achieved national independence, Merdeka on 31 August 1957. 31 August 2017 will be the 60 Anniversary of the event and therefore the Diamond Jubilee of the foundation of the country. It will also be a significant occasion for the profession of architects as it will be the Diamond Jubilee celebration of architecture since National Independence.
In August 1987, PAM and the profession of achitects celebrated 30 years of Post Merdeka Architecture with an exhibition and a publication. In August 2017, it is appropriate that PAM and the profession of architects celebrate 60 years of Merdeka Architecture with this exciting and unique event.
The Symposium was held on Saturday, 26th August 2017 in Dewan Tunku Canselor, University of Malaya. Before the actual day of the symposium, several small events were held such as A Conversation with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, A Dialogue with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Press Conference for the Merdeka Jubilee Architecture Symposium. All of these events are organized to welcome and celebrate this meaningful 60th anniversary.
The Symposium was divided into two sessions with three speakers and a panel discussion for each session, discourse the six decades of achitecture and in the context of national and international events. The Malaysian architecture, achievements and challenges during the period was presented and evaluated during the whole Symposium. The Symposium book, "Views, Reviews, Interviews" with articles and interview through out the 60 years were compiled and was published on that day too.
The Symposium is concluded with a celebratory dinner, the Jubilee Dinner on the 26th August 2017, 7pm at the Royal Selangor Club which included the present and past PAM presidents, Architects who have contributed to the architecture over the 60 years period, speakers, panelists and guest.
We all hope this meaningful day will be remembered and future generations will continue the legacy in shaping our independent nation and will be able to vividly narrate to the next generation of their glorious experience.
PRA Saturday Workshop - Site Visit To Sunway GEO Residences

On 08/07/2017, PRA's monthly Saturday Workshop was held at our recently completed project, the GEO Residence at Sunway South Quay.
GEO Residence is a residential development that is part of GEO Development; an intergrated development within Sunway Resort City which includes retail lots, SOHO and office developments.
The GEO Residence consists of 472 high end apartment units, providing residents with a lifestlye of convenience with over 200 retail outlets within walking distance of their home and over 600 office suites. Shopping will literally be a walk away, and grocery shoping is as easy as pushing the shopping cart right up to the door.
During the whole workshop, we were led by our Associate, Rochana and Design Architect, Yandi to explain to us on the space planning, the facilities and etc. We also had a discussion with the Property Management Team on the issues and solutions to provide a better environment for the residents.
The entire visit helped us to understand and identify how to provide better spaces, environment and facilities for future condominium developments.
PRA Saturday Workshop - Site Visit to HKL Metal Work's Factory

Our latest Saturday Workshop series was held at HKL Metal Work’s factory in Seri Kembangan. We are currently working together with HKL for one of our ongoing projects where they are the façade fabricators.
Led by HKL’s Mr Rowland Low, QAQC Manager and Mr Vince Libiano, Project Manager, we had the opportunity to understand the work process from the translation of our architectural design intent into their façade shop drawings to the assembly line of the unitised curtain walls and the final fabricated curtain wall modules. HKL also shared with us their thorough checking procedures from acceptance of the various materials such as the Low-E laminated glass to the powder coated aluminium extrusions to the assembly of the curtain wall modules before transporting it to site.
The entire visit has helped us to understand better how the unitised curtain wall modules are assembled and detailed. Then next follow up workshop would be to visit the project site to inspect the installation of the curtain wall modules and façade elements.
We would like to again thank HKL for taking the time to host us at their factory and sharing their experience and knowledge.

PRA Saturday Workshop - Site Visit to PAM Centre, Bangsar

On the 3rd of December, we visited the new PAM Centre at Jalan Tandok, Bangsar. We were honored to have Ar Mohd Heikal Hasan from HMA & Associates to brief us on the design ideas and challenges faced. The idea was to embrace pure forms and appreciate the raw finishes of materials used. The cleverly planned voids and breakout spaces had created a spacious experience despite the narrow site.

The annual buka puasa is part of the office tradition which has been practised since the last 36 years. This year, we were greatful to be joined by Ar. PRA Saturday Workshop on 5 Dec 2015...wrapping up the 2015 year training with a big bang.
Starting off with a knowledge sharing and feedback session on construction quality by our Associate Ms Rochana, then getting to know a LOT more on aluminium window specifications and detailing thanks to Mr Jeremy C Y Chew of API Aluminium Sdn Bhd.
After our break, we were presented with the latest in hybrid hot water heaters by Mr Chester Ooi of Pacific Engineering Sdn Bhd (Pecol). Imagine getting free hot water just by using your air-conditioners!
Last but not least, we were treated to a very enthusiastic & energetic talk by En Zulfadzli Haron of Solexel (M) Sdn Bhd. Not only were we educated on the fundamentals of solar technology and design but were were also briefed on the latest technology being developed by Solexel. Imagine being able to harvest solar energy more efficiently, cheaper and in a more versatile way! Thanks to a hybrid of monocrystalline and thin film solar panel technology, soon we would be able to place our solar panels almost anywhere on the building form and not just the roofs. Without the need for clunky and heavy panels.
Overall, it was a very informative session that we hope to be able to implement the knowledge gained into our current and future projects.

PRA's annual 'buka puasa' or breaking of fast was held on the 7th of July 2015 at Essence, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur. The annual buka puasa is part of the office tradition which has been practised since the last 36 years. This year, we were greatful to be joined by Ar. Mohd Zulhemlee An, PAM President for the 2015-2016 Council and Ar. Mustapha Kamal Zulkarnain, PAM Council Member for the 2015-2016 Council.

PRA Saturday Workshop - The Rhombus Bangsar Site Visit

The Saturday workshop of October 2013 has taken place at the Rhombus for a site visit. Unit One Design is the design whizzes behind the Rhombus, a boutique residential tower ensconced in the heart of Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. Winner of the PAM (Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia) Gold Awards 2013 in the multiple residential high-rise category, the Rhombus houses 24 apartment units and a penthouse. PRA team gathered at our office in Kompleks Damai by 8 in the morning before heading to the site via car pooling. We were greeted by the representative of the developer upon our arrival for general briefing and took us for a tour to the mock-up unit, common facilities, car park and service area. The visit ended at 1.30pm for Q&A session.

PRA Ramadhan Buka Puasa 2013 has taken place in Sunway Putra Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. It is the office's annual event to hold a breakfast gathering at this time of the year.
PRA Saturday Workshop - Tiara Residences Selayang Site Visit

On our Working Saturday training in February, we made a site visit to Tiara Residences in Selayang. The project comprises of 46 units of 4 storey signature hilltop villas on a 3.32 acre site provides tropical living using modern architectural expression in a natural green environment. The visit was commenced upon a brief by the project architect, Shima Shahrir, followed by the client representative and contractors. The office staff then arranged into two groups for visits to the construction site and ended up by a Q&A session.
Chinese New Year Lion Dance 2013

PRA Chinese New Year Lion Dance was held on 18th of February 2013, at PRA office in Kuala Lumpur. The lion dancer troupes performed the traditional custom of "cai ching", by plucking the auspicious vegetables and fruit like oranges, followed by a tied red envelop hanged on top of the office entrance. The lion dance is believed to bring good luck and fortune.

The office annual lunch was held on the 2nd of January 2013 in Makan Kitchen, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur. The annual lunch is part of the office tradition which has been practised since the last 33 years. The event was meant for core building of team spirit among PRA staff in a gathering outside the office environment.
